FEAR! Why is there so much fear in our lives & how to transcend that fear!

I have noticed more and more often, that fear has been arising in our society. That is what this blog is about and how to move from fear to love. When we are living from a state of love, there is no room for fear in our lives.

FEAR = fewer options! I've heard this statement MANY times and I have to agree. Fear occurs when you feel there is only ONE way to do something. There is always multiple ways, but I believe we were taught fear from an early age. Our parents were taught this, and their parents and so forth. I don't say this as a way to shame anyone. We just didn't know anything different. As our society becomes more and more conscious of learning to live more harmonious lives, fear will shift more and more out of our lives.

Fear is involved in SO MANY aspects of our lives, we all think it is normal to think this way. It isn't!

Examples of how fear rules our lives: from the time we could walk, how many times had you heard don't do this or that - because you will fall (OK we most likely won't remember this toddler stage). This is often where it started, then continued all through your life. Throughout school, fear of failing as you need to get good marks to get into University/college. Fear of not picking the right career, fear of not investing money the right way, fear of not marrying the right person, fear of not getting the right job. Almost EVERY aspect of your life seems to be based on repercussion, based on something fearful occurring. I know I felt this throughout my life!

So now you're probably thinking, how do I stop living in fear, as this is now a well developed habit?! Let me share a few of my tips.

#1: Stay more in this present NOW moment! Have you ever noticed when you are fearful, often you are worried about something that occurred in the past or may occur in the future? Being present in this NOW moment is easier said than done! They say we have 60,000+ thoughts going through our mind each and every day, and many on set on repeat. I have started a practice of asking myself, “Am I present?”. This shifts everything. It will remind you to get present and this will not only reduce overwhelm, but it may also help you add clarity to all your decisions.

#2: Use distraction & go do something that brings you joy! This truly can be harder than you think but I still encourage anyone to try it anyways. You need to try something different to get different results, so rather than focus on fear, distract yourself and go have some fun! That's it - it's not that complicated, and I find for some reason, people think they need some complicated technique, or they believe it won't work, but I assure you, THIS WORKS! Just try it a few times a day, and the activity could literally be just 15 minutes long.

#3: Affirmations! Tell yourself you are going to be ok! Literally this is all affirmations is to me. You are soothing yourself, and affirming what you WANT vs FEAR in your life! Also FEEL the emotions involved. There is a little bit of "faking it until you make it" involved here, but you do need to assure yourself that you will be ok!
